Birthing In The Spirit

    © 22 Colin Melbourne

    Giving Birth Spiritually

There’s a depth of prayer far beyond normal intercession, where the believer travails in the spirit of prayer, with deep compassion, and ultimately brings forth that which Father has placed on your heart.

It may take minutes or hours of such travail, perhaps as in Abram’s case, even decades of believing prayer.

        Repeat Water Baptism?

          © 10 Colin Melbourne

How many times should I be baptised?

Q: I belong to a church that believes that if you have been baptised and you have not changed, then you must be baptised again. The Bishop himself was baptised seven times because he did not change after the first six times.

As a result of their belief, I was baptised twice. The first time was before I joined this church, but because I heard the message of keep baptising until you’ve changed, I got baptised again with them.

            © 14 Colin Melbourne

            Truth or Tradition?

Q: I’ve read your pages on Christian Baptism where you insist on dunking the person. My church prefers sprinkling or pouring water on people. Are you saying that is not proper baptism?

A: Sprinkling, pouring, dabbing, and splashing are not biblical baptism in water.

            Christian Baptism In Water

              © 02 Colin Melbourne

              The Lord Jesus Christ commands

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

              Holy Bible Mtt. 28:19 KJV

In the Bible, believers were baptised in water as soon as they believed the Gospel.

The Evil One Inspires the Sin of Idolatry

Q: There’s a girl who says she went to heaven, met Jesus, and has painted his picture that many rave over. What do you make of this?

A: I know of the story, and have seen the image you refer to.

                    Have scientists finally created life?

Q: The news media are saying that scientists have created synthetic life for the first time. Is it true?

A: You refer to the work published in the May 2010 Science journal by the J. Craig Venter Institute entitled, Creation of a Bacterial Cell Controlled by a Chemically Synthesised Genome, Gibson et al.

Satan Wants You to Depend on Anything-BUT God’s Word

Q: What’s the Christian view of gene therapy of disease, and the use of stem-cells to treat genetic disorders?

A: This topic arises when people depart from the LORD’s will for us, either through rejection of the Gospel of Christ, or a shallow understanding of redemption by faith in Him.

                      The Tree of Life

                        © 23 Colin Melbourne

                        Everlasting Divine Life

Q: What are we to make of the Tree of Life in the Bible, it sounds more symbolic than real, especially when mentioned at the end of the Bible, and does it have any similarity to the Tree of Life we are taught in Biology class at school?

A: The Tree of Life first mentioned in Genesis 2:9 KJV., is both real and symbolic.

And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

                          The Unforgivable & Deadliest Sin

Q: What’s the worst sin of all?

A: Thank you for your question.

Ask sober sinners, and they generally list such sins as; murder, paedophilia, homosexuality, incest, rape, adultery, fornication, and stealing.

Q: Should Christians be taking a daily Aspirin to prevent cancer, heart attacks, and strokes?

A: I assume you ask because of the recent news about the anti-cancer properties of a daily dose of 75 mg. of Aspirin (Salicylic acid).

                              Christ’s Message to Believers

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Holy Bible 1 Jn. 1:5-7 KJV

The Word of God became Flesh and Blood and taught His followers how to live in the Secret Place of the Almighty, in harmony with Him, cleansed of every sin.

The Mass is performed with evil purpose and is therefore an abomination.

You shall not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them:

                                  Holy Bible Deut. 5:8-9a KJV

                                  Summary

Knox stresses that all Church practices and procedures for honouring God must have a clear biblical warrant if they are to be valid in God’s sight. Forms of worship that are the invention of man, and not sanctioned by God’s word are idolatrous. Knox proves that the Roman Catholic Mass is entirely a human invention, and therefore idolatry.

A: Christians gather for fellowship and worship whenever they want to, we’re not limited to once a week, or Sunday, the Lord’s Day.

Nor should we be under any compulsion to attend.
