Elijah’s divine victory on Carmel was followed by his embarrassing flight from Queen Jezebel, and Father’s compassionate restoration and reward of his Prophet of Fire.

The Bible tells us nothing of his life before his first prophetic confrontation with King Ahab, so I’m pondering how this Old Testament prophet was called and trained to office.

Nowadays we have Bible schools, Evangelism schools, and even a weird-and-wacky Kansas School of Prophecy!

But is that God’s way of shaping the people He uses?

    I don’t think so.

That’s normally the flesh-man’s way of indoctrination and religion, producing only dead works: The reason cults and denominations always fail.

    Just Figs, Uninspired, Boring Figs!

From personal experience, every thought I entertained of formal training in God’s work was firmly blocked by Father, who simply directed me to get on with it, and learn By Following Christ Wholeheartedly.

Is that what you’ve discovered too?

I’m curious, so let’s learn about Elijah together how Father called and shaped the Tishbite?

If you are interested in this, please join me in seeking Father for insight, bookmark this page and contact me to share what you’ve learned.

I’ll update this article as I hear from Father more about this topic.

    The Bible Sons of Prophets

    We see in first and second Kings that there was a group called the sons of prophets who were able to prophecy (unlike many today) for example, 1 Kings 20:35-36 KJV;

And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said unto his neighbour in the word of the LORD, Smite me, I pray thee. And the man refused to smite him.

Then said he unto him, Because thou hast not obeyed the voice of the LORD, behold, as soon as thou art departed from me, a lion shall slay thee. And as soon as he was departed from him, a lion found him, and slew him.

Perhaps that was a tutoring scheme set up by Samuel, or Elisha and Elijah as he was about to depart on the Chariot of Fire to Heaven?

Whatever, it seemed to peter-out, as human-sourced projects inevitably do, but…

    God’s Way Always Works

So I think a better place to start is with the examples of Moses, and then Samuel, as a boy being woken from slumber by the audible Voice of the Holy Ghost.

    Moses at The Burning Bush

Being a “type” of Christ the maturation of the Prophet Moses had to be unique, atypical.

Delivered as a babe-in-arms to Almighty God’s care, his Family placed him in a tiny floating Ark, on Egypt’s River Nile. Rescued by a doting alien Princess, he was suckled and raised amidst Royal splendour and patronage.

Though he would have hesitated by Egyptian mirrors wondering about his appearance compared to his Arab “family”.

Schooled by the greatest minds of the Egyptian empire, the LORD must’ve kept him wondering who he really was, and why he was on Earth.

Perhaps as you cogitated when still in your sins?

Smith Wigglesworth, said of Moses (I paraphrase…), “It took God 40 years to educate Moses in the way of the world, followed by 40 years teaching him divine wisdom, and finally 40 years of prophetic ministry leading Israel to the Promised Land.”

Moses found out at the Burning Bush.

    Samuel’s Calling Was More Typical

Similar to how Father called you to Christ, wasn’t it?

    Not sure?

Read First Samuel In The KJV and ask Father to remind you.

Incidentally, if you are a barren parent longing for your first child, do what Hannah did, and you’ll discover, Hebrews 13:8 KJV; Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
