What Saith It?

    The Word of Faith Which We Preach

    You’ll never grow in Christ until both your believing and speaking agree with His written word.

    Nor will you see what you believe until you first confess it with your mouth.

    That is the word of faith that the Holy Ghost teaches, Romans 10:4-10 KJV;

    For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

    For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.

    But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

    For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

    Believing & Saying

    Mental assent is useless. What you believe in your heart is what counts with God, never what you believe in your mind, only that in your innermost being, your spirit.

    Now here’s a powerful lesson that every Christian needs to comprehend and practise.

    Heart and Mouth

    In order to obtain anything by faith in the Word of God, the believer must first speak what they believe in their heart, or they get nothing.

    God in The Flesh taught this in Mark chapter 11, using the barren fig-tree as an example, but it’s a universal principle throughout the Holy Bible under both covenants. Mark 11:12-14 KJV;

    And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry: And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.

    And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

    Then He went to the temple and drove out the money-merchants. Mk. 11:20-26

    And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

    And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

    And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

    Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

    And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

    If Christ had not spoken to the tree out loud, but merely said it in his heart, nothing would have happened.

    That’s the reason this passage is in God’s Book, so we get the point and learn to saith.

    Dare to Saith

    Most Christians never grasp this lesson, and squander their lives muttering to themselves instead of speaking out loud what they believe in their heart.

    It’s a matter of integrity: What you believe in your spirit must be what you declare with your lips, and so what you do about it.

    The two must work together for the task to be accomplished.

    You may believe something in your heart, but instead of confessing it, you say, “Let’s see what happens.”

    You’ll be dismayed, and make lame excuses.

    David Spoke Words of Faith

    The principle is the same even under the Old Covenant in animal blood.

    Even the shepherd boy David spoke the word of faith, so must you to slay your giant enemies.

    In 1 Samuel chapter 17, the stripling youth was appalled that the Devil was defying the army of God, leaving them fearful, and weak.

    In contrast the lad spoke words of faith by the Holy Ghost saying, 1 Samuel 17:34-37 KJV

    And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.

    Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.

    David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.

    When David faced Goliath’s mockery, his faith spoke again, 1 Sam. 17:45-47 KJV;

    Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.

    And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD’S, and he will give you into our hands.

    And so it was, the LORD confirming His words through little David, a “type” of Christ.

    You’ll find Abraham, Jacob, and the Prophets all spoke the word of faith too.

    A Plumber’s Words of Faith

    Smith Wigglesworth’s great success in miracle ministry was because he’d learned to “saith”.

    He’d announce what was about to happen, and knew it had to be so because he spoke based on God’s Promises, not in his own pride or flesh. Father had long humbled Smith to get rid of every vestige of arrogance.

    Many miracles are not instant, because they depend on the recipient’s faith, as well as the one ministering.

    But this never dismayed SW, he knew what he’d said had to be so, because God is faithful, and He would fulfil His servant’s words.

    Learn How To Saith

    1. 1) Have total confidence in The LORD Jesus Christ to fulfil His words through you
    2. 2) Walk in integrity of heart, spirit and soul with Him. Do as He leads by His anointing within.
    3. 3) Say boldly what He puts in your heart to say.
    4. 4) Keep declaring what He says above every situation or circumstance, and He will endorse you. What He said is so, and it cannot be otherwise.
