Going The Extra Mile

    © 18 Colin Melbourne

    Why not just a mile?

Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

When the Bible becomes an idol

Q: People in our church are saying that we are treating our Bible as an idol; I don’t understand. Isn’t this God’s Word, and so should be worshipped? Mary Ann

A: Some people claiming to be Christian do in-fact worship the Holy Bible.

      This is plain idolatry.

        I Can’t Stop Sinning

Q: What is the reason I keep falling into sin and backslide? I don’t know why. Ruth

A: You will have to go to Christ yourself in earnest, sincere, prayer, and ask Him the reason for your fickle walk.

Below are some common reasons that may help you.

          Cults and Counterfeit Jews

Q: How should we as Christians respond when Zionists use bible verses to claim to be God’s Chosen with a God-given right to Palestine?

A: Religious cults appeal to scripture to justify their apostasy. They do this by taking bible verses out of context, and reject the Holy Spirit meaning of scripture.

            Satan’s Counterfeit Jews

            The Risen Messiah prophesied the destiny of false-Jews, Revelation 3:6-13 KJV;

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

                The Word of Reconciliation

                  © 19 Colin Melbourne

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

                  The Sin Unto Death

                    © 26 Colin Melbourne

If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

Holy Bible, 1 John 5:16 KJV

Father instructs us to pray asking Him for mercy for repentant Christians who’ve sinned, but He makes an exception for the sin unto death: So what is that sin?

Unsaved theologians answer with a tip-toed maze-walk as though it’s difficult, but it isn’t.

The Word of Faith Which We Preach

You’ll never grow in Christ until both your believing and speaking agree with His written word.

Nor will you see what you believe until you first confess it with your mouth.

What riches are opened to us through the written words of God when illuminated by the Holy Ghost!

It’s true, we’ve been envious of the First Twelve Disciples because they; lived, ate, and slept with, the Messiah, and heard His Teaching first hand.

But now we realise what we have today is far, far greater.

                          Why?

                            Witnessing to Unrepentant Sinners

Q: How do we decide when a person is reprobate, and do we still witness to them?

A: Simple, attend to both the written word, and the rhema’d word of God to your heart. They always agree.

A sinner is a reprobate, according to the written word, when they persist in wilfully rejecting the Lordship of Christ: The rule of the Living God in their heart.

An example would be a nominal “believer” who rejects Christ’s Lordship, so knowingly follows the desires of the flesh nature, and encourages other sinners to do the same.

                                Father is kind to the ungrateful and wicked amongst us, so Christians are too. Holy Bible, Luke 6:27-36 KJV;

I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.

The Substance of a Good Report

                                    1) When the LORD utters a word then it is certain and sure from that moment, even if it is to be fulfilled in the future, because every word of the LORD is true, righteous, and good.

                                    2) Because the LORD writes that New Covenant believers have been healed, then they are healed regardless of what they sense: It IS so.
