Beginning Tongues

Q: I received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit about one week ago, how do I continue to use this Gift, not only in church but in private? Jamie

A: Water baptism is a one-off, the Bible instructs us to do it once after we are saved. In contrast, God’s word tells us to be continually filled with (Baptised in) the Holy Spirit. This means we are to be soused or drenched in God’s Spirit all the time, so that everything we do, say, and think, is in line with Him. Eph. 5:18-20 KJV.

Where is it in the Bible?

Q: Is the phrase, “Holier than thou” actually in the Bible? If so, who said it, and to whom?

A: Indeed it is, Is. 65:5 KJV;

Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.

Misuse of Prophecy

Prophecy causes more trouble than anything else in the world.

If you turn to the Old Testament you will find prophetic utterances.

Prophetic utterances beginning in the flesh, and ending in the flesh are wrong.

Jesus speaking expressly to the seventy who went out, and came back saying, what wonderful things had happened, said, Behold, I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. [Lk. 10:19]

The Real Presence

I find that the world is becoming worse and worse on these lines, because she is full of mixtures. When you go to shop, you never know whether you will get the pure article, or adulteration.

God is a Cleanser

All the mighty movings of God are always to purge you, perfect you, make you holy, make you see that He can dwell in you mightily, and move in you by the Spirit gloriously.

Wigglesworth’s Challenge

For many years, I have thrown out the challenge; to any person, who can prove to me, that he has the Baptism, without speaking in tongues, as the Spirit gives utterance: To prove it by the word that he has been Baptised in the Holy Ghost without the Bible evidence.

But so far no one has accepted the challenge.

How to Stir Up The Gift

Thousands have missed wonderful blessings because they have not had faith to move out and begin in the natural, in faith that the Lord would take them into the realm of the supernatural.

You have no licence to continue beyond a, “Thus sayeth the Lord.”

There is another side to this

God would have the assembly as free as possible, and you must not put your hand upon the working of the Spirit, or it will surely bring trouble.

Shortly after this we find that after preaching in His home town they wanted to throw Him over the brow of a hill.

It was the same with the Twelve disciples

They had no persecution before the day of Pentecost, but after they were filled with the Spirit, they were soon in prison.

He’s Always Willing

Most places that we go to there are so many people that we cannot pray for. In some places there are 200 or 300 who would like us to visit them, but we are not able to do so. But I am glad that the Lord Jesus is always willing to come and heal.

He longs to meet the sick ones.

He loves to heal them of their afflictions

When I was in Australia, a man came up to me. He was leaning on a big stick, and said, “I would like you to help me. It will take you half an hour to pray for me.”

I said, “Believe God, and in one moment you will be whole.”

In the world they are always having new diseases, and the doctors cannot locate them.

A doctor said to me, “The science of medicine is in its infancy, and really we doctors have no confidence in our medicine. We are always experimenting.”

But the man of God does not experiment.
